Archangel Michael, sent down from heaven to deal with an infestation of demons (minions of the Devil), was soundly trounced by the unexpectedly strong demons.
The demons, by posing as a heavy metal visual Kei band, had gained much magical strength from the adoration of their worshipers (fans). The injured Michael was discovered and treated by the highschool girl Ibuki.
To get stronger Michael was advised to become an idol and so gain followers. Soon Michael was joined by other archangels who came down to check out the situation.
This is the story of their efforts to learn modern Japanese culture and build up a fan base, assisted by Ibuki and her mother (an ex-demon worshiper).
