My guess is that the princess was sent there on purpose, the incident wasn't a incident, MC "living for myself" vow didn't last 2 chapters, but we knew he was a pussy from the moment he didn't kill the "hero", the ex did one thing right, unfortuantely didn't finish the job, would if the memory wasn't suppressed, and if her blessing is gone, she can't anymore.
